Letter from our Chair: What’s happening at CMV Action
Dear Friends and Supporters,
I hope this message finds you well.
I’m writing to share some exciting developments happening at CMV Action. As Chair of Trustees, I feel incredibly proud of the momentum we’re building together, thanks to your ongoing support. We’ve now almost at the end of the first year of our latest strategy and it really feels like CMV Action is at the start of a very exciting new chapter filled with energy, connection and growth.
Firstly, I’m thrilled to announce that our National Lottery-funded CMV Connect project is now officially underway. This marks a significant milestone in our journey. In our 2024 supporter survey, you asked us for new ways to offer support to individuals and families affected by CMV and this project is part of our ongoing plans to do just that. I’m delighted to introduce you to Debbie, our new CMV Connect Project Coordinator Debbie brings a wealth of experience and compassion and will be instrumental in delivering our new support offerings and growing our volunteer network.
Our WhatsApp Community (which forms part of CMV Connect) is now up and running and already proving to be a valuable space for peer-to-peer support. We’ve seen first-hand how powerful it is when people come together to share their stories, challenges, and hope. If you haven’t joined yet, we warmly encourage you to become part of this supportive network.
Looking ahead, we’re preparing to refresh our brand and redesign our website to ensure that it’s more user-friendly, inclusive, and accessible to everyone who needs us. This work is not just about a new look , it’s about making it easier for people to find information, support and community at a time when they need it most.
And as we approach the festive season, I’m excited to share that our Christmas Campaign, ‘Christmas Connect”, will be launching soon. This campaign is all about coming together to support one another, raise awareness of CMV and ensure that no one feels alone at what can be a very emotional time of year.
