Mia

Hello, this is Mia, she is 6 months and 2 weeks old and I got diagnosed with cmv when I was 6 months plus pregnant. It was a horrible time we only found out as I got really poorly and could not get out of bed. I had to have loads of growth scans and scans on Mia with her brain and spleen. Several doctors said Mia had no signs of cmv in the womb and said it's more than likely she didn't have it!

When she was born she was born full term 7.11oz normal everything and then they did a urine test and blood and that's when we found out she had cmv. She passed her hearing test eye test but had calcification on the brain linking to her hearing. After being on antiviral treatment for 6 months, at 3 months cmv was coming back negative.

So far there is nothing that seems to be wrong she is having her hearing and eye test and follow up appointments now as the other day was her last blood and urine test I am proud of Mia so much and everything she has been through she is a fighter. I didn't think we would get good news but it happened so far so good we just have to keep an eye on her hearing for when she's older. I just wanted to share Mia's story as a positive that never give up and keep strong thank you for reading xx
