CMV Connect Autumn Events

What’s on this autumn

Autumn is bringing a full calendar of support, learning and connection at CMV Action – whether you want expert answers, a friendly space to talk, or a way to give back.

Here’s what’s coming up…

Back to school can bring up a lot for families affected by cCMV. Pop into this informal online drop-in  – no agenda, just a friendly space to chat, ask questions, and connect with others who get it.

Living with cCMV in the family? Join Professor Chrissie Jones (University of Southampton) for a live expert session on congenital CMV – what it is, how it affects pregnancy and children, and the latest research and support.

Curious about volunteering but want to know more first? Join this relaxed session to hear about opportunities – from moderating our WhatsApp support groups to helping on the support line, events, and future peer support roles. No experience needed, and no pressure to sign up on the day.

Supporting a child with additional needs takes so much love and energy – and you want to be there for all your children. We’ve teamed up with Sibs, the UK charity for brothers and sisters of disabled children and adults, to bring you this free session packed with practical ideas and insight for nurturing every child in your family. For parents and carers of children affected by cCMV – this session is not recommend for professionals.

Help shape how lived experience guides

CMV Action

CMV Action began with parents who knew exactly what was missing for families like theirs, and we want that to stay true as we grow.

We’ve paused our Family Advisory Panel, not ended it, because we want to build something more meaningful, with families designing it from the start rather than reacting once it’s finished.

We’re starting small: a handful of parents and carers helping shape how this should genuinely work, through a short series of online sessions built around you.

Want to be part of the first conversations? Contact Debbie, our CMV Project Coordinator:

No commitment beyond an initial conversation.

We hope you’ll find a session that’s right for you. All CMV Connect events are designed to give families a chance to connect, share experiences and access helpful information in a friendly, supportive space.

We look forward to seeing you this autumn!
