I’d never heard of CMV until we were affected. I’m still surprised that it was never mentioned and I was not tested. If I’d known it was a risk I would have been more careful when caring for my eldest child, who was at nursery when I fell pregnant with Lara. Lara is one of the lucky ones…she has single sided deafness and balance issues. Although this brings its challenges, we work through these together. She leads a happy and busy life enjoying swimming, dance, netball, rugby and she loves reading and writing stories. We are so proud of everything she’s achieved so far.
