Our first Charity Ball - a huge success!

March saw CMV Action's first Charity Spring Ball, held at Twickenham Stadium.  170 people attended an evening of good food and wine, live entertainment and fun at the home of English Rugby. The evening was hosted by the BBC News Presenter, Ellie Crissell who, with the help of a very entertaining celebrity auctioneer, Rufus Hound, encouraged people to part with their money! The event was rounded off with a fun casino and live music from the Tamla Tigers, a Motown-influenced 8-piece band, and a great time was had by all. Thanks to some amazing auction and raffle prizes, the casino and photobooth, the event raised an amazing £15,000 which will be split with the Shooting Star CHASE Children's Hospice.  A further £1,100 was also raised for CMV Action through generous donations from people unable to attend but wanting to help.  This means that CMV Action has already reached our 2012 fundraising target and can now apply for registered charity status - more on that in the near future! Sarah Beadell, the Event Organiser was so encouraged by the success of the event, she's already planning our next ball for 2014 - watch this space!
