CMV Information Day

On Tuesday  2nd June  parents, grandparents and professionals met at the Elizabeth Foundation and spent the whole day talking about CMV. The professionals included midwives, a GP, Teachers of the Deaf, nurses, Speech Therapists and representatives from the charity Sense.

We discussed CMV Action's plans to raise awareness and heard about parents' experiences of CMV. Dr Patel gave us an informative medical perspective and Amy Stephens gave a practical workshop on the sensory integration problems faced by some children with CMV. We also heard about the work with deaf preschoolers at the Elizabeth Foundation.

We'd like to say a big thank you to the Elizabeth Foundation for hosting and to all the speakers and especially to everyone who shared their experiences and concerns. The feedback was excellent with positive comments on the information, range of subjects and the opportunity for parents and professionals to share information and experiences.
