Nov – SALT’s from London and the South East, UCL, London

  • Educated 150 midwives via our ilearning programme
  • Featured in 3 national articles including the Midwifery Digest
  • Sent our 64 awareness raising packs to be placed in doctor’s surgeries, hospitals, etc
  • Been successful in gaining a CMV page on the Bounty App
  • Collaborated with over 30 countries
  • Supported researcher’s bids for funding
  • Produced a learning programme for Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds universities to be incorporated into  Teacher of the Deaf Courses
  • Held a Family Day at Thames Valley Adventure Park and held Teddy Bear’s Picnics throughout the month of June for CMV Awareness month.
  • Supported sporting fundraising events including Big Beast, K & D Arden 9 mile race, Wollaton 10K, Birmingham Marathon, Great South Run, Devil Mud Run, Great North Run, Autumn Wolf Run, 8000 steps challenge, Great Newham Run, Walking the Humber Bridge, Manchester 10K, Great Bristol Run, London Marathon, Contender Boxing Match
  • Supported Autumn Charity Fair, Goldwings Charity Event, Fun Days, Hull Veterans Weekend, Hair cut challenge, Dry January, music gigs and more
  • Supported Research programmes and surveys – RACEFIT, trial for anti virals for children up to 4 years
  • Commissioned YHEC to research and report on The Hidden Cost of CMV
  • Collaborated with other charities - Sands, NDCS, CICS, AVUK, Child Bereavement UK, BLISS, The Elizabeth Foundation
  • Were joined by 3 trustees with different experiences of CMV and a range of skills
  • Held 4 face to face Trustee meetings and many conference calls
  • Had support calls with our medical advisors to ensure we support families in the best possible way.
