New book on CMV aimed at raising awareness

Professor Paul Griffiths, one of the leading researchers into a CMV vaccine, has just published an exciting new book on CMV called "The Stealth Virus".  Professor Griffiths took a brief sabbatical last year with the goal of writing a book that would explain CMV to the non-specialist. He descrbes the history of a virus which evolved millions of years ago, explains how and why this virus has come out of obscurity and uses the experiences and stories of real patients to demonstrate why it has evaded detection and treatment for so long.  As Paul himself says "This was great fun, but challenging for someone who is used to using technical jargon in every sentence".  Professor Griffiths hopes the book will be a useful source of information to families affected by CMV.  Given how little is known about CMV we are sure that there will be many other audiences who will find this accessible history useful - christmas present for any of your local health professionals perhaps? The book is dedicated to those who have encountered 'the Stealth Virus' and to those who have declared war upon it.  Any proceeds from publication of this book will go to the Royal Free Charity to progress CMV research, not to Professor Griffiths personally. You can buy the book in paperbook and electronic versions from these pages on Amazon UK and Amazon US.   If you read The Stealth Virus please do post a customer review on the website.
