CMV Action Celebrates National Lottery Funding for New Family Support Project

We are thrilled to announce that CMV Action has been awarded funding from the National Lottery Community Fund to launch a brand-new project: CMV Connect. This is an exciting and vital step forward in expanding our support for families affected by congenital cytomegalovirus (cCMV).

Every day, we hear from parents and carers looking for support, guidance, and connection after a cCMV diagnosis. Our 2024 family survey showed just how critical it is to strengthen our services, bring families together, and make sure no one feels alone on this journey.

Thanks to the generosity of National Lottery players, we now can do just that.

“We are so grateful to the National Lottery Community Fund for believing in our work. CMV Connect will help us reach more families, respond more personally to their needs, and continue building a strong, supportive community. This project is about connection, compassion, and creating lasting change.”
Lucy Liang, Chair of Trustees, CMV Action

What is CMV Connect?

CMV Connect is part of our wider strategy to grow and adapt our support services in direct response to what our community has told us they need. The project will enhance our outreach, provide new opportunities for families to connect – both online and in-person – and improve access to resources and emotional support.

As part of this funding, we are delighted to announce that we will be recruiting a new freelance Project Coordinator to lead this work and help bring our vision for CMV Connect to life.
