Adam Walshe - Autumn Wolf Run

Adam is undertaking a whole host of challenges this year to raise money for CMV Action - WOW!

He says 'My fifth challenge of the year raising awareness and fundraising for CMV Action was the Autumn Wolf Run, Leamington Spa, a 10km cross-country assault course. Our 'Wolf Pack' consisted of myself and four friends - Chris Spencer, Andy Boojers, Simon Dyke and Chris Golsby (left to right in the team photo - I am pictured in the middle with Mylo and his brother, Seth, is below). The course was a tough mix of mud swamps, woods, hills, lakes,  man-made obstacles and a giant water slide but ultimately an enjoyable challenge which we completed in approx. 1 hour and 35 mins. The mud has just about gone away two days later!

The support I've had has been fantastic and I have already surpassed my fundraising target twice so have set myself a final goal of raising £5,000. I am now over half way to achieving this and I will be adding more challenges along the way. My next challenge is the Great Run Birmingham Half Marathon on Sunday October 15th. Training is well under way..

Adam told us why he was inspired to get involved -

'I recently became aware of CMV Action and when I read the mission statement ‘Educate, Vaccinate, Eradicate’ I wanted to help raise awareness for CMV Action. Knowing that in the future there is the possibility of a vaccine available to eradicate CMV I wanted to do my bit to help make this a possibility. I am aiming to raise £1,000 by completing a number of organised events in 2017 along with a few friends.'
