“My first challenge of 2017 was to take on the Great Bristol Run. Over 13,000 people ran the route from Bristol Millennium Square up the River Avon past the Clifton Suspension Bridge and back round through the City. Luke Brown and Ross Taylor, friends of mine for over 20 years, also joined me on the day which was great support. The atmosphere throughout the race was brilliant and weather conditions were perfect which enabled me to finish with a personal best – and a great start to my year of challenges! No rest though as I’m straight back into training for my next challenge the K&D Arden 9 mile race on Sunday 18th June.”

Another wonderful fundraiser - Adam Walsh is taking part in five different events this year to raise awareness and funds for CMV Action in honour of his wonderful little boy Mylo.

First up is the Bristol Great Run on Sunday May 7th and he intends taking on a further four events throughout the year with varying challenges.

He told us why he was inspired to get involved

'I recently became aware of CMV Action and when I read the mission statement ‘Educate, Vaccinate, Eradicate’ I wanted to help raise awareness for CMV Action. Knowing that in the future there is the possibility of a vaccine available to eradicate CMV I wanted to do my bit to help make this a possibility. I am aiming to raise £1,000 by completing a number of organised events in 2017 along with a few friends.'
